The National Literature Award “Bolshaya Kniga” (Big Book)

Award’s objectives

The National Literature Award was established for the purpose of finding and rewarding authors of literary works, able to make a substantial contribution to the artistic culture of Russia, to raise a social significance of a modern Russian literature, attraction of readers’ and public attention to it.

Project’s objects

informational and image support of the award process, reinforcing the award’s positions in the cultural space of the country, interaction with Russian and foreign mass media and public relations for the purpose of the promotion of the award, its establishers and providing general public with maximum amount of information concerning the award, its establishers, sponsors, finalists and award winners.

Project task’s solution

creation and securing the operation of the media center of the “Bolshaya Kniga” (Big Book) national literature award.

Toolkit

  • Carrying out of constant contacts with representatives of mass media, publishing houses, bookstores, organizers and fascillitators of book fairs, trade fairs, festivals, literary salons, cultural projects
  • Preparation of informational materials (previews, press releases, interviews etc.) related to the topic of the award’s topic and their circulation in printed and electronic mass media, arrangement of participation of finalists and award’s winners in TV and radio programs
  • Establishing and issue “Bolshaya Kniga” newspaper (3 issues per year)
  • Informational support of the significant award-related events – press conference held on the occasion of announcing the “long list”, literary dinner on the occasion of announcing a “list of finalists”, official reward ceremony, readers’ voting for the award finalists, held in the Internet
  • Organization and informational support of meetings of finalists and award winners with educated population of the country – within a framework of the Moscow International Book Fair, “Non-fiction” fair, in the stores of “Bookbery” chain, in literary salon “Na Samoteke”
  • Organization and informational support of meetings of finalists and award winners with students and teachers of the leading universities of the country – Moscow State University, High School of Economics
  • Organization of a series of online conferences with participation of the award’s finalists on a platform of the largest Russian news agency RIA “Novosti”

  • Building a constant sustainable interest to the award’s events by representatives of mass media and educated population of the country
  • Enhancement of the prestige of “Bolshaya Kniga” (Big Book) award among national literature awards
  • Increase in the number of the award’s mentionings in mass media

Therefore, the result of three-years work of the “Bolshaya Kniga” (Big Book) media center this award has reinforced its positions in the world of the modern mass media and became a leading literature award, as well as an integral part of the literature process in the perception of journalists, majoring in covering cultural topics.
