“GULAG IN THE LIVES OF PEOPLE AND THE COUNTRY” on December 11. On the day before, the CROS team helped organize a pre-opening press-tour of the exhibition that took over three years of preparations.
For the first time ever, it allows to track the complete history of repression, starting with the establishment of the first labor camps and finishing with the liquidation of GULAG. The exhibition is based on scientific research, archive documents, memoirs of witnesses, rare archive pictures and footage, and material evidence of the period. An interactive map of the camps, VR technologies, multimedia and verbatim formats make visitors immerse in the atmosphere of the time, experience involvement, and feel emotions and stress that people of the time had. A review of the exhibition is available in the broadcast of ‘Vesti’ news show (in Russian). And do go to the museum!
