“MEMORY BELL” COMMEMORATION EVENT HELD IN MOSCOW, ACROSS RUSSIA

30 октября

The “Memory Bell” commemoration event was held in Moscow and other cities of Russia on October 30, the Memorial Day for Victims of Political Repression.

The annual event is organized by the Memory Fund and the GULAG History Museum, the long-standing friends and partners of CROS. This year the event was held for the second time. Supporting projects like this is a great honor for us, and we hope that it will become a good tradition.

On this special day, people lay flowers to the Wall of Grief monument, light candles and can commemorate victims of political repression by ringing the “Memory Bell”, a symbolic bell made of a rail on a chain that was brought from the Solovetsky Islands.
