PRESS CONFERENCE ON PREPARATIONS FOR CENSUS 2020 HELD IN ST PETERSBURG
On February 5, St Petersburg hosted a press conference where representatives of the Federal Statistics Service and the government of St Petersburg talked about preparations for the All-Russia Population Census 2020. Experts told about the advantages of the digital census, questions that the census takers will be asking the population, and ways to participate in the census using the e-government website Gosuslugi.ru.
Deputy Head of the Federal Statistics Service Pavel Smelov stressed that the census is not aimed at collecting people’s personal data and that the census form does not have questions, asking for responder’s name or address. “Filling in the electronic form is much safer than opening access to your social media account,” he added.
The press conference was held with the support of the CROS team. You can learn more in the NTV broadcast (in Russian).
